Trees Chopped In NorCal
While Fly-In, Fly-Out is typically associated with Australian mining operations, the Toreros paid homage to that jet-set lifestyle with a short, sharp trip to Stanford for their second North/South crossover match. With an early call time at the airport, USD displayed no signs of jet lag as they put on a dominant display against a skilled Cardinal club. From the outset, USD was is control of matters, scoring off their opening possession and never letting off the gas. With a final of 92-19, the Toreros returned home in time to catch sunset, marking the end to an excellent day of footy.
With the win, USD keeps their record spotless as they are now five from five in league play, including both North/South cross over matches. With a few weeks off before their next (and final) league match on March 22, USD will look to lick their wounds and incorporate Coach Purdon’s findings from the Spring campaign. A win against ASU in San Diego will cement USD’s top seed in the California playoff, ensuring a home playoff match against the eventual Northern California champion.
Final from Steuber Field.
