Match Preview - League Opener at Arizona State- 1/25

This Saturday USD will play Arizona State in the league opener for both teams. This is the first year that ASU is competing in the gold coast conference, after moving down from D1-A. ASU competed in the PAC conference last year, with other high caliber programs like Cal, Arizona, and UCLA. The Sun Devils have a high-quality roster led by star center Kyson Jester. ASU is the current conference champion in 7s after taking the title fall 2019. The ASU roster is filled with former high school All-Americans and will be a tough test for USD.

USD is finishing up the first week of training camp as they prepare for the league opener. Two training sessions a day have prepared USD for the physical demands of collegiate rugby. The match will be the first 15s contest between the two schools in over 10 years, and will hopefully be an entertaining and competitive game of rugby!
