USD adds Charlie Purdon to coaching staff

USD is excited to announce the hiring of Charlie Purdon to our coaching staff this season! Purdon has had a decorated rugby career in the states, playing high level club rugby for Santa Monica and OMBAC, in addition to professionally with the San Diego Breakers.

After retiring Charlie has published several books on coaching rugby, and become an influential figure in the San Diego Rugby community. Charlie has cultivated top rugby talent in the San Diego area, with consistent results in skill development. This summer Charlie is running summer camps with 2 time 7s world player of the year Perry Baker.

Charlie will join USD as attack/skills coach, with an emphasis on the development of the high level skills needed to compete in collegiate rugby. In addition Charlie will be head coach of USD 7s as we seek to compete in several major tournaments this fall.
